Day 28 | 100 Days of Self Care

I’ve been dragging my feet through the fantastic book The Slight Edge*. Though no fault of the writer, it’s taken me well over a month. Some books I accept that it’s just not the right time for me to read it and it’s returned to the library for another day. This one I could not part with until it was finished.

It’s all about the small seemingly unimportant decisions we make every day and how easy it is to do them… and how easy it is to NOT do them. This determines how successful we are at achieving our goals.

HIGHLY recommend.

Today’s Self Care Stats:

Accomplished

  • Day 2 of a healthy protein shake for breakfast
  • Finally finished a library book that I couldn’t part with until it was done – and it only cost me 50 cents
  • Mile walk with the kids, the pup and a soccer ball
  • Opted for broccoli (ok broccoli and cheese) over pizza
  • Put myself to bed early

How I felt

I’m not sure what causes migraines on certain days of the week, but Monday and Tuesdays have this sort of effect. Early to bed is necessary. I will say that my baby steps in regards to health have been steadily increasing. And that feels good.

Take away point

There is nothing quite like finishing a book worth reading.
