Day 15 | 100 Days of Self Care

Just a little sample of the space. It was cozy.
Big leap today.

I (finally!) scheduled a facial. I’ve been sitting on this gift certificate for some time and it’s been long coming. (FYI: Truly grateful to the gal who got it for me a few years ago. I needed it then, but sometimes I’m slow to the game.)

What a great experience.

My esthetician was kind and caring. Truth be told, I have some insecurities about my skin, so having someone who made me feel comfortable about that was key. Every therapist should be that way – whether it’s skin care, massage, mental health, etc.

You should be comfortable in their space.

Anyway, I’m all glow-y and happy, so if you’re looking for some skin therapy and a mini massage GO. It doesn’t matter where you go, just go. I drove an hour for this appointment and would (will!) do it again in a heartbeat.

Today’s Self Care Stats:

Accomplished

  • Had a facial from the lovely Alexandra in Sorelle Salon & Spa in Worcester.
  • Enjoyed a rare beverage: Iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks
  • Gratitude awareness
  • Knee: stretching and exercise
  • Mile walk with the pup
  • 2 good full Sun salutations
  • Drank water
  • Read a book for 10 whole minutes
  • Went to bed early (booyah!)

How I felt

Feeling great today, lighter even. I tend to jump all in and go big with my challenges/projects, but that isn’t always what I need. By starting my day with a significant self care act, it has carried into my day and propelled me forward to do other acts that promote health and happiness.

Take away point

It doesn’t have to be dramatic. Small steps toward what we want (and what we want to change) is all the forward progress we need.
