The idea of doing a sun salutation project came up in the group. Genius. The benefits are probably more than I could say, but there are two reasons I’m going to make them part of my self care project.
First, health benefits aside, adding sun salutations takes the guesswork out of what yoga sequence to do. It’s right there. Plain and simple. And then you build on that.
Secondly, I think I should do daily sun salutations because… I hate them. They make me uncomfortable and I get antsy.
Something I’m definitely going to explore in my 100 days here.
Today’s Self Care Stats
Accomplished: Opted for a big leafy salad over a PB&J. Did some baking with my daughter and really enjoyed the moments. 2 full sun salutations. Finished with child’s pose. (No knee stuff = rest day.)
How I felt: My wrists really dislike down-dog. Like really. I took it slower than I normally would. Tried to feel what was happening and settled right down into child’s pose for some traction. (It releases my back. So delicious.)
Take away point: If it’s a little uncomfortable, it’s important to look at why and then decide if it’s something you should lean into.
