It’s been a few weeks in the new place and I’m in love.
I’m in love with everything it is and everything it represents. I even love the wall paper (which will eventually come down but it’s nice enough to leave be for now). We still have at least two boxes in each room to unpack but I’m taking my time and looking at things with a critical eye. Do we need it? Where will it belong? Does it need a new home?
Unpacking will take some time but I’m in it for the long haul.
Settling in was surprisingly easy. Bedtimes are a breeze and afternoons have at least one walk, hike, or bike ride in it. Sometimes two. I am prone to packing my schedule and being in a new place has made time slow down, forcing me to relish every savory moment.
And I am.
Life happens all the time and you need to pay attention even in those chaotic, busy moments. I don’t think I was doing a good job of that. I realize that now. Each day here it becomes more ours and more filled with love. It’s a dream from which I hope to never wake.
